How to make your AI so powerful it feels illegal...

written by Jan

Today I want to show you what happens when you give your AI the ability to improve itself.

There is a concept called AutoResearch.

It is not a product.

It is a pattern.

The idea is simple: instead of you being the one to improve your AI setup, you let the AI run experiments, measure results, and update its own approach automatically.

I used it to build a trading agent.

Here is what the loop looks like:

  1. The agent reads its goal (what it is optimizing for), its current strategy, and its past results
  2. It forms a hypothesis ("what if I tweak this parameter?")
  3. It edits its own code and runs a test
  4. If it crashes, it logs the error and tries again
  5. If results improve, it keeps the change
  6. It logs everything and repeats

Trade Agent Performance

There is no human in the loop and no babysitting is necessary.

Right now the agent is running on paper money while we validate the strategy before touching real capital. Every entry it has made so far is profitable on our first time using it:

The most striking thing about this performance is this is my first time running it nearly 2 weeks now using the agent's own trading strategy and every position it entered is profitable.

ETH is the most interesting one.

The entry position was only $500. But it is up 18%.

That is not luck...

That is what happens when you let an agent research its own edge instead of just following a static set of rules someone else wrote.

Here is the part that matters for you.

This is not just about trading.

AutoResearch is a pattern you can drop into anything measurable.

Want your landing page to convert better? Give an agent your goal, your current copy, and your past test data. Let it run experiments and update itself.

Want your ads to improve without you micromanaging every creative? Same pattern.

Want your outreach sequences to get smarter over time? Same.

The only requirement is that you can define what "better" looks like in numbers.

If you can measure it, you can automate the improvement loop.

You do not need to be technical to get this running. You need a clear goal, the right tool pointed at it, and a way for the agent to measure whether it is moving in the right direction.

That is it.
